Large workshop bench polisher A large workshop bench polisher is a power tool used for polishing and buffing metal, wood, and other materials. They can take up to 200mm 8″ wheels for grinding and polishing. Here are some basic steps for using a bench polisher: Prepare your workspace: Before using the bench polisher, make sure that your workspace is clear of clutter and that you have adequate lighting. Also, ensure that the polisher is securely mounted on a stable workbench or stand. Select the right buffing wheel: Choose the buffing wheel that is best suited for the material you want to polish. Coarse wheels are typically used for removing scratches and heavy rust, while finer wheels are used for achieving a smoother finish. Apply polishing compound: Apply a small amount of polishing compound to the buffing wheel. The amount of compound you need will depend on the size of the wheel and the extent of the polishing required. Be sure to use the right type of compound for your material. Turn on the polisher: Turn on the polisher and allow it to reach its full speed before beginning to polish. Begin polishing: Hold your workpiece against the buffing wheel with light pressure, moving it back and forth in a smooth and controlled motion. Do not press too hard, as this can cause the wheel to overheat and damage the material.
