This Metal Polishing Kit Contains: Polishing Mop 3″ x 1 Section 1x Dry Sisal – Coarse 1x White Stitched – Firm 1x Loosefold G – Medium 1x Loosefold WDR – Soft Compound Bar (4″ x 1″ – 100 grams) 1 x Cutting Compound – Brown / Black 1x Polishing Compound – Blue / Pink 1x Reverse Thread Mandrel (6mm Spindle) All components of our kits are available separately across our online store. Compounds: Brown & Blue – Non-Ferrous Metals – Aluminium, Copper, Brass, Lead etc. Black & Pink – Ferrous Metals – Tool Steel, Stainless Steel, Iron etc. How to use the Drill Mounted Metal Polishing Kit: Note that this is a polishing kit, so any surface preparation to create a satisfactorily smooth surface should be achieved before beginning the polishing process.  For the final finish and high-gloss polish using polishing mops in conjunction with the appropriate compound. Start by using the Dry Sisal Mop (Roughest) with Cutting Compound to smooth the surface before polishing. Fit the mop onto the mandrel sandwiched between the two washers and tighten the nut. Mount the mandrel into your drill. Load your mop with compound by spinning against the bar – the compound will melt and coat the mop. Work the mop evenly over the surface. Keep moving at all times and avoid dwelling to prevent any “flats” forming. Now move on to the White Stitched Mop, this time using either of the Cutting OR Polishing Compounds depending on your desired effect (Never mix compounds). Next, use the Loosefold G Mop with Polishing Compound (You can skip this step if you don’t feel it’s necessary) Finally, use the Loosefold WDR Mop and/or Felt Discs with Polishing Compound to achieve the professional mirror-like finish. We suggest using Vienna Lime or Solvent Cleaner to remove any residual polishing haze at the end of the process (Available in our online store).
