The dry sisal material is a coarser material for cutting and pre-polishing to get metal into a good condition before polishing. This stage is important because the final finish will only be as good as the preparation. They are used on both steel (harder metals) and alloys (softer metals). However they are more commonly used on hard materials. What are dry sisal mops? Dry Sisal polishing mops are made from sisal material which makes for a coarse cutting mop. Used with a coarse cutting compound for scratch removal pre-polishing. This is normally the first stage mop to flatten the metal surface in preparation for polishing. Dry sisal dollie mops are small mini polishing mops, they do not have a leather washer and are only available in small diameters. They are idea for very small detailed polishing work. Dry Sisal is used for the initial cutting stage with cutting compound to flatten the metal in preparation for polishing.
