By booking this workshop you are agreeing that your sewing skills and experience match the criteria below. This is to avoid personal frustration and to ensure that everyone has a chance to go home with a finished bag.Level 2Suitable for those who can confidently use a sewing machine, but have little or no experience of bagmakingYou need to be able to do the following –Confidently use a sewing machine to sew straight and curved linesFollow written instructions to cut out pattern pieces accurately and add interfacing in own time (Initial guidance can be given in the shop)Sew accurate seam allowancesTopstitch with a given seam allowanceFollow instructions given by workshop tutorWork at a consistent pace to complete tasksUse a ruler to measure accurately under guidanceCope with a busy day of sewingSome preparation will be required before the class ie: cutting out your pieces and fusing interfacing – advice can be given for this in the shop.During this one day workshop you will make The Occasion Bag by Sew Turtle patterns.This beautiful little bag is perfect for an evening out or a special occasion. There are two separate compartments, as well as a hidden card pocket and a magnetic snap closure. The delicate strap is adjustable to be worn as a shoulder or crossbody bag and the flower brooch adds the perfect finishing touch.Bags will need to be made using quilting weight cotton or similar weight fabric, as anything heavier will be too thick for the sewing school machines to handle.DimensionsApproximate finished dimensions:22cm Width x 18cm Height x 8cm Depth (8.75″ Width x 7″ Height x 3″ Depth)This will be a busy day of sewing so please be prepared to be tired but happy at the end of it!The pattern is included in the workshop price but you will need to provide your own materials for this project, all available to purchase from Nimble Thimbles.The Flower Brooch attachment is also included in the workshop cost.Sewing machines are provided in the sewing school but you will need to bring your own equipment with you. Once you have booked and closer to the date, you will be emailed a list of materials & equipment needed for this project.
