DescriptionDate: 25th April 2026 Day: Saturday Time: 9.30am to 5.00pmPlease Note: This is a Level 3 workshop. By booking this workshop you are agreeing that your sewing skills and experience match the criteria below. This is to avoid personal frustration and to ensure that everyone has a chance to go home with a finished bag.Level 3 – IntermediateSuitable for those with some previous experience of bagmaking, wanting to add to their skills and make a variety of different bagsYou need to be able to do the following –Confidently use a sewing machine to sew straight and curved linesSew accurate seam allowancesFollow written instructions to cut out pattern pieces accurately and add interfacing in own timeTopstitch with a given seam allowanceFollow multiple instructions given by workshop tutorWork at a consistent pace to complete tasks and cope with a busy day of sewingUse a zipper foot independentlyChange stitch, needle position and stitch length independently, after initial guidanceUse a variety of stitches, including straight and tripleUse a ruler to measure accuratelyHave knowledge and experience of making boxed corners, slip pockets and handles / strapsUse a Humper Jumper to sew over thick seamsMake a detachable strap in own time, if necessary, after being given instructions Some preparation will be required before the class ie: cutting out your pieces and fusing interfacing – advice can be given for this in the shop.During this one day workshop you will make The Ring Sling Bag by The Make Space (formerly Mrs H sewing patterns).“The Ring Sling is a fab sew for bagmakers! You can wear this versatile bag as a shoulder handbag or as a crossbody sling bag. It’s got four fab exterior slip pockets. The bag fastens with a top zip making it super secure”. The perfect throw everything in with its generous size and wide opening!Please be aware that we have slightly modified the bag from the pattern. Once you have booked and closer to the date, you will be emailed a list of materials & equipment needed for this project.
